Hi everyone!  Please see our new May calendar to find out who our new class visitors are going to be!  I’ll give you a hint…

You can also find out about our 30 x 30 challenge and two upcoming bake sales.

Watch for a permission slip coming home about the safe bus program presentation on May 31st.  This is a community partnership between Regina Transit, Regina Block Parent program, and Regina Police Service.  Students will learn how to flag down a Regina Transit bus if they are ever lost, hurt or in danger.  A Regina Transit operator will visit our primary classes to teach students about the program.  Additionally, the students will get to go on a short city bus ride, touring the neighbourhood and learning about ‘safe spots’ in the neighbourhood, such as the nearby fire station.

This month we start the transition from learning about addition and subtraction to learning about Numbers to 100, which includes skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s and learning to group large quantities.

Warming weather?  Rain?  Please keep your eye on the weather and send your child to school ready for lots of outdoor action.  A hat and a good sunscreening before school on a warm day is never a bad idea.  Water bottles are great to have around for those days when we might take our reading or our Phys. Ed outside.

Let’s have a great month!
